IVAN

Hurricane Ivan passed over the Cayman Islands on 11th/12th September 2004. It was the third largest hurricane on record. We had 4 ft of water inside our house. The island was without water for a month and electricity for about 2 months.

Lara in the mx5

We both hate it over here.

Andy deep sea fishing with Warren.
Mostly barracuda, sometimes dolphin, wahoo, mahi-mahi, tuna, once a swordfish. All big beasties with sharp teeth.

Andy and John shore fishing at Paegent Beach, just before Seven Mile Beach begins.
The wreck in the background is excellent for snorkelling as it is home to a few fish.
The fish inside the wreck were the only ones we saw that day.

Andy in Cayman Brac demonstrating all that there is to do.

Brac comes from the Gaelic which describes the only cliff (and therefore the highest point) in the Cayman Islands. It stands at a whopping 100ft. That is why we get so mash up during hurricanes.

Pirates week,

Grand Cayman.

You can take the pirate out of Scotland...
